Your date of birth contains more than just the day you were born.
In numerology, the numbers in your birth date can be arranged in a Lo Shu Grid to understand the numerical pattern of your life. Some numbers may appear once or more than once. Some may not appear at all.
Those absent numbers are referred to as missing numbers. But what exactly is their meaning? How are they connected to crystals?
It is on this point that numerology becomes even more interesting.
Instead of selecting a crystal according to your date of birth or according to your psychic number, the Lo Shu Grid can help you determine what numbers are missing in your date of birth, and a crystal traditionally associated with that number can act as a numerological remedy.
Your complete date of birth is used to create the grid.

When the numbers are in place, you can clearly see three things:
● What numbers are there?
● Which numbers are duplicated?
● What numbers are missing?
It gives you a simple numerical picture to play with.
For Dr JC Chaudhry, it’s not about creating fear around numbers. It's about raising awareness.
Knowledge should heal, not perplex.
That’s why a missing number should not be seen as a negative.
A missing number is a number between 1-9 that does not appear in your Lo Shu square.
The absence of the number 4 in your Lo Shu square means you have a missing number 4. Similarly, absence of numbers 6 and 8 would mean you have missing number 6 and 8 respectively.
Understanding a missing number does not mean you lack the attributes of that number but you need to give more attention to these number. Numerology focuses on a missing number in a more conscious way. Depending on a number is missing, one can focus on other aspects of life.
For example, communication and balance can be focused on due to the presence of a missing number 5.
One can also focus on mental and spiritual aspects of life and breakthrough due to the presence of a missing number 8.
At JC Numero, the crystal association is determined by the missing number in the Lo Shu Grid.
Number | Ruling Planet | Crystal |
1 | Sun | Sunstone |
2 | Moon | Moonstone |
3 | Jupiter | Green Aventurine |
4 | Uranus | Pyrite |
5 | Mercury | Clear Quartz |
6 | Venus | Rose Quartz |
7 | Neptune | Cat's Eye |
8 | Saturn | Amethyst |
9 | Mars | Red Jasper |
So, if Number 4 is missing from your Lo Shu Grid, Pyrite is the traditionally associated crystal.
If Number 6 is missing, Rose Quartz is associated with Number 6.
The process is simple:
Find the missing number first. Then look at its associated crystal.
Number 1 is associated with the Sun.
It represents qualities such as independence, leadership, ambition and taking initiative.
If Number 1 is missing from your Lo Shu Grid, Sunstone is traditionally associated with it.
It can serve as a reminder to become more conscious of your confidence, individuality and ability to take the first step.
Number 2 is associated with the Moon.
It relates to emotions, relationships, family and intuition.
If Number 2 is missing, Moonstone is traditionally associated with the number.
It can remind you to pay greater attention to emotional understanding and relationships.
Number 3 is associated with Jupiter.
It is connected with knowledge, learning, expression and affection.
If Number 3 is missing from your grid, Green Aventurine is traditionally associated with it.
It can become a reminder to keep learning, expressing yourself and developing your knowledge.
Number 4 is associated with Uranus.
It represents organisation, research, structure and depth.
If Number 4 is missing, Pyrite is the associated crystal.
It can serve as a reminder to bring greater organisation and structure into areas of life where you need it.
Number 5 is associated with Mercury.
It represents communication, balance, understanding and adaptability.
If Number 5 is missing, Clear Quartz is traditionally associated with it.
It can remind you of the importance of clear communication and maintaining balance.
Number 6 is associated with Venus.
It relates to creativity, harmony, social connection and luxury.
If Number 6 is missing from your Lo Shu Grid, Rose Quartz is traditionally associated with it.
It can become a reminder to give attention to creativity, harmony and meaningful connections.
Number 7 is associated with Neptune.
It is connected with spirituality, introspection, deeper understanding and travel.
If Number 7 is missing, Cat's Eye is traditionally associated with the number.
It can serve as a reminder to make time for reflection and deeper understanding.
Number 8 is associated with Saturn.
It represents discipline, responsibility, justice and perseverance.
If Number 8 is missing, Amethyst is traditionally associated with it.
It can remind you to pay attention to discipline, patience and responsibility.
Number 9 is associated with Mars.
It represents courage, action, determination and strong drive.
If Number 9 is missing from your grid, Red Jasper is traditionally associated with it.
It can serve as a reminder to act with greater determination and purpose.
This is where many people get confused.
Your Psychic Number is calculated from your day of birth.
For example, if you were born on the 25th:
2 + 5 = 7
Your Psychic Number is 7.
But your crystal recommendation based on the Lo Shu Grid may be completely different.
Why?
Because the Lo Shu Grid uses your complete date of birth to identify the numbers that are present and missing.
For example, you could have a Psychic Number 7 but have Numbers 4 and 8 missing from your Lo Shu Grid.
In that case, the crystal associations would be:
Missing 4 → Pyrite
Missing 8 → Amethyst
This is why choosing a crystal only from your Birth Number or Psychic Number does not necessarily tell the complete story.
No. This is one of the most important things to understand about numerology. A missing number is not a prediction of failure. It does not mean that something bad will happen. And it does not mean that you cannot develop the qualities associated with that number.
Think of it as an area that deserves your attention.
If a number represents communication, become more conscious of how you communicate.
If a number represents discipline, look at your habits.
If a number represents confidence, notice how you make decisions.
The number can create awareness.
Your actions create change.
A crystal associated with a missing number can be used as a numerological remedy. It can also become a physical reminder of the quality you are choosing to focus on. But it should not be seen as a substitute for action.
A crystal cannot make a decision for you.
It cannot replace effort.
It cannot replace learning, planning, communication or responsible choices.
The real purpose is to connect the numerical understanding with greater awareness in everyday life.
Your first question should not be:
"Which crystal is lucky for me?"
Start with a better question:
"Which number is missing from my Lo Shu Grid?"
Once you know the answer, you can explore the crystal traditionally associated with that number.
The JC Numero App by Dr. JC Chaudhry helps you explore your numerological profile and Lo Shu Grid so you can understand your numbers in a simpler way.
Because sometimes, understanding what is missing can be just as valuable as understanding what is already there.
1.
Your missing number can be identified by creating a Lo Shu Grid using your complete date of birth. The numbers from 1 to 9 that do not appear in your grid are considered your missing numbers. Each missing number is traditionally associated with certain qualities and a corresponding crystal.
2.
The crystal depends on which number is missing from your Lo Shu Grid. For example, Pyrite is associated with missing Number 4, Rose Quartz with Number 6, Amethyst with Number 8, and Red Jasper with Number 9 in the JC Numero numerology system.
3.
No. A missing number is not necessarily a negative indication or a prediction of failure. In numerology, it can be viewed as an area that deserves greater awareness and attention. The associated crystal can be used as a symbolic numerological remedy or reminder while your own actions and choices remain important.
